Doctor Won’t Increase Dose From .5 to 1

As of this week the .5 dose doesn’t seem to have the effect of virtually eliminating my appetite anymore so I emailed the doc about increasing the dose to 1…and she said no. I’m scheduled for blood work next week (A1C) and a follow up visit the first part of February. I just hate to gain weight between now and then unnecessarily.

If the medication is no longer curbing my appetite why not allow the increase? I’ve been on .5 for 6 weeks…maybe more.

Hi Skyking,
My guess is the doc doesn't want to increase the dose for you because of side effects that may happen (and the 1mg is quite a high one), or she really is waiting for your blood test to see if all is OK.
