Ozempic diarrhoea is killing me

Good day. Since about a month and a half ago, I've been using ozempic. First of all, I need to tell you about my medical condition. I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes when I was 40 years old. From that moment, I started my struggle with excess weight and high sugar. There were different diets, gruelling training, and even fasting on that way. But all that helped only for a short time. Then, I gained the weight back.

Eventually, my doctor advised me to try Ozempic. The dosage of 0.5 milligrams was perfect; there were no Ozempic side effects, and I realized that I had very little hunger for meals. Earlier I had to eat a big plate of meat and vegetables to feel full in the morning. Now I'm okay with a small yoghurt for breakfast. Due to these Ozempic effects, I was able to drop 5 pounds in only one month!!

But! The situation became much more difficult once the dosage was raised to 1 MG. The adverse effects were of a very serious kind. Ozempic diarrhoea is killing me.. I have already been in touch with my primary care physician to determine the next step (I don't want to spend the rest of my life in the bathroom)...

Thanks for sharing! How are you, news? From your message, it's evident to me that you need to come back to the previous dosage of 0,5 mg. Then side effects from Ozempic will return to normal. I had a similar situation, and my doctor decided I should not take the maximum dose. She said that not all the patients could stand such a big concentration. That shouldn't be a problem if you have the desired effect with the previous dosing. Of course, we all are different, and you will probably find another way out. I just wanted to share my experience. Best of luck.

I’ve been on Ozempic for just eight weeks, with just three at .5 dosage, and the diarrhea really seems VERY dependent on what I eat or drink. No more coffee or fried foods for now. 71 years old and diagnosed with type 2 14 years ago. But the positives FAR outweigh the negative. I’ve lost 20 lbs and my A1C two days ago was 5.8!!! I’ve stopped taking three of four daily injections and stopped two other meds completely.

Dear @Twindad9 ,

Thank you for sharing your experience with Ozempic. It's great to hear that you've seen some positive changes in your health since starting the medication. Congratulations on the significant weight loss and the remarkable improvement in your A1C level; a reading of 5.8 is truly fantastic!

Well, side effects are common unfortunately when starting a new medication, and the diarrhea you mentioned might be one of them. It's good to know that you have observed a connection between certain foods and drinks triggering this side effect. Making adjustments to your diet by avoiding coffee and fried foods is a wise choice, as it can help manage this aspect of your experience with Ozempic.

It's impressive that Ozempic has allowed you to reduce your daily injections and discontinue two other medications. Such progress indicates how effective the medication can be for managing type 2 diabetes and promoting overall health.

Always remember that every individual's response to medication can differ, and side effects can vary. If you continue to experience any concerns or if the diarrhea persists, it's essential to discuss it with your healthcare provider. They can provide personalized advice and make any necessary adjustments to ensure your well-being.

It's inspiring to see your commitment to improving your health, even after being diagnosed with type 2 diabetes for 14 years. Your dedication to making lifestyle changes and embracing the positive impact of Ozempic is truly commendable.

Please keep up the good work and continue working closely with your healthcare team to monitor your progress. Your success story can serve as motivation for others facing similar challenges. Remember to celebrate your achievements, and if you ever need further support or have any questions, don't hesitate to reach out.

Wishing you continued success on your health journey!
