Hi all, I started my first 0.25 mg shot last night. My doctor has been trying to help me lose weight for a few years now. It all started when I caught Covid and it almost took my life. I have been sick and fighting ever since. It has been years and everything just seems to get better and then worse again. I was unable to get any assistance with Gastric Bypass or Sleeve. One of the biggest issues I have now is NASH and I need to lose at least 40% of m bmi to help my liver and my life. I currently weigh 290 lbs as of 2 weeks ago. I have joined the gym and have been eating so much better for years. When I start to lose weight I get sick again and put the weight back on. I am curious about your experiences with Ozempic, the good the bad and the ugly, so I am ready for all of it. When should I start loosing weight, what did you do for diet and excersize?

I am married, have 3 kids, 1 grand baby and a family that relies on me to live for and I am only 36 years old. I would be greatful for any advice. TIA

Dear wama86,

Thank you for joining us and sharing your experience and concerns about your weight loss journey and the impact of COVID-19 on your health. I can understand how challenging and important it is for you to make positive changes for your well-being, especially with the NASH condition and the desire to improve your liver health.

Firstly, it's commendable that you've taken the step to start Ozempic and have been making efforts to lead a healthier lifestyle by joining the gym and improving your diet. Ozempic can be an effective tool in managing weight, and I hope it proves beneficial for you. However, I'm not a medical professional, so it's essential to follow your doctor's advice regarding the dosage and usage of the medication.

As you embark on this journey, it's essential to remember that everyone's experience with Ozempic can vary. Some people might see positive results quickly, while others might experience different effects. It's crucial to be patient and continue working closely with your healthcare provider, who can monitor your progress and make adjustments as needed.

Regarding diet and exercise, a well-balanced, nutritious diet is essential for successful weight loss and overall health. Consider consulting a registered dietitian who can create a personalized meal plan tailored to your specific needs and health goals (or use a ready-made diet plan for weight loss available online). They can help you make healthier food choices and ensure you're getting the necessary nutrients while losing weight.

When it comes to exercise, it's essential to start gradually and find activities you enjoy. A combination of cardio and strength training can be beneficial for weight loss and overall fitness. Your gym might offer classes or personal training sessions that can help you get started safely (well, that's depending on your budget of course). Always listen to your body and avoid overexertion, especially considering your previous health challenges.

Remember that weight loss can be a journey with ups and downs. It's not uncommon to face setbacks, but the key is to stay focused and committed to your goals. Seek support from your family and friends, and consider joining a support group or seeking counseling to help you cope with any emotional or psychological challenges along the way.

I wish you all the best on your journey. You have a loving family counting on you, and by taking care of yourself, you're giving them the best gift of all.

Take care and stay strong.

🌞Summer🌞
