Hi everyone. I'm not diabetic, am 178cm, and around 100 kilos. I just took my third dose this morning of .25 and have only lost about 5 lbs. Most of which was from the first week. Only one morning of vomiting and only occasional nausea but all went away in week 2. The first dose I injected into my abdomen. Caused a nice 2-inch bruise that is still visible today. The second dose, after reading some hints, I injected it into my thigh after cooling my leg down with an ice cube first. Minimal side effects during week 2 but not as much weight loss. Today, I iced my other thigh and injected. No side effects yet today. Has anyone noticed less weight loss with injecting in the thighs compared to the abdomen?
Trying not to be impatient but have lessened what I eat as I do not feel hungry but am hopeful that this will work. Have a great day everyone!

Hi Lisa! ;)
It is great that Ozempic suppressed your appetite, as it supposed to. And it will definitely help you manage your daily diet. As for the side effects like vomiting and nausea, I drink water with mint or lemon, just a small amount and it helps. Even though you probably think you lost not so much, I suggest you continue the way you do, gradual weight loss is the best for your body. Just a tip: don't weigh yourself too often, take measurements once a week maybe, to see the results.

I'm feeling really bummed that I've been on Ozempic for 7 weeks and absolutely no weight loss. I took .25 for first 4 weeks and just took my 3rd injection of .5. Other than being really tired the night of my injections and a few bouts of diarrhea within 36 hrs of my injections and some recurring heartburn I don't notice anything that is different and definitely nothing has changed with my appetite, etc. Last 2 injections I took a couple pepto chewables right after and did not get diarrhea. I see my dr. in a couple weeks and I expect him to prescribe the next 2 doses for me (1 mg and 2 mg?). I started at 220 lbs and still the same. Has anyone else experienced no weight loss early on? Hoping that will change as my dosage increases or this has all been for naught.

Weight loss will depend a lot on why you were overweight. If you were over wight due to insulin resistance, always hungry, or fatty liver then there is a good chance you will lose a lot of weight on it. However...if you were overweight due to stress eating or emotional eating it's not likely to help with that.

Not true at all - if that was the case my doctor would not have prescribed it to me. Originally Ozempic was for those who were insulin resistant but also works for those who are not and are obese. The drug doesn't have a mind so doesn't know who is stress eating or emotional eating or reason for being overweight. The drug works to suppress appetite which is why there is weight loss.

Negative
Drs may not do it on purpose but they prescribe stuff all the time that doesn't work for someone. There is no diet or diet medicine ever made that works for everyone.
The reason ozempic doesn't help much with people who stress eat, emotional eat, boredom eat, or habit eat...is none of those are caused by hunger...so stopping hunger will NOT stop eating that is unrelated to hunger.

I'm on my 3rd week at .25. I sometimes don't have any appetite but it comes back. I've lost the same 3 lbs in this time.

Keep in mind .25 is very low dose. It's .25 .5 1.0 for diabetics. And 2.4 mg a week for weight loss trial.

I just took my 3rd shot today (.25). I have only lost 2 pounds - the thing is I am 71 and I have been wondering after seeing yours maybe it has to do with my age. I will say the shot has totally taken away my appetite. (I’m really thankful.) I’m not eating any snacks, sweets or junk food, but have only lost 2 pounds. I am tracking my calories using the MyFitnessPal app and I consume NO MORE than 800-1000 calories a day.
Any thoughts?

Hello everyone, I’m Azul. So my first week I lost over 5 pounds, I think some of it was water. The second week, 2 pounds, which ends today. I’ll start my third week tomorrow and see how it goes. My goal is to lose 75 pounds. Anyone who would like to have a weight loss Buddy let me know.

Hi Azul, 🌸
Congratulations on your progress during the first two weeks! Losing over 5 pounds in your first week is an excellent start, and it's common for some of it to be water weight. A 2-pound loss in the second week is also a positive step towards your goal.

I'm glad to hear that you're determined to continue on this journey. Losing 75 pounds is a significant goal, but with dedication and consistency, you can achieve it. Remember that slow and steady progress is often the most sustainable.

Having a weight loss buddy can be incredibly beneficial for staying motivated and accountable. I encourage you to reach out to others who might be interested in joining you on this journey. You can support and inspire each other along the way.

Wishing you all the best for your third week and beyond. Stay focused and stay positive—you've got this!

So your mind may have gone into starvation mode, which then signals the body to conserve each calorie. Please be safe💓

Thank you so much for saying that because it’s exactly what happened. I added some food and started dropping a little better. I just have to make myself eat.

Well, tomorrow will be my 3 month mark and am down 23 pounds. My doctor said 1 to 2 pounds a week is what I should see. I was supposed to move up to 1mg tomorrow but with the ozempic shortage, I could only get one box and I had to drive an hour away to get it. So I will stay on .5 for the next few months and pray they get more in. The best part is thar my A1C is down to 5.8 I couldn't be more pleased.

I am wishing you the best. Be patient and resilient and you will be successful. Don't forget to drink half your body weight in water oz. So let's say you weigh 200, drink 100 oz of water a day. And eat your protein first, then you can eat your fiber and carb. You've got this!!!!!

Thank you so much Dee, yes I will try to drink more, I always seem to forget the water and thanks also for the tip on the order of eating, was not aware of this. 🙂 I look forward to next week when I go up to the 1mg dose. Thanks again for the encouragement.
