I have recently moved up to 1mg. Since week two of this dosage I have had very painful sensitive skin. Senstitive to the touch and to movement. Almost feels like a burning rash, but with no rash. This sensation is present on my arms, head, underarms, stomach and legs.

Has anyone else had these symptoms? Is this something I need to be concerned about?

I am going to stop Ozempic for a week to see if the symptoms subside.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Andrew,
Yes, I have been experiencing these issues also, at first, I didn't know how to explain what I was feeling until this past week when someone explained that it felt like a sunburn. I've been on Ozempic since December I'm on 2.0 for the last two months it started when I went to 1.0 it wasn't too bad mainly on upper thighs and areas on my arm (lasted about a week) but for the last two weeks it started across the back of my neck, down my upper left arm and underarm area. I have been putting Bio Freeze on it and it seems to help some but because I am a woman and have to wear bra it has been very uncomfortable since the bra rubs in that area. It's the weirdest thing because it seems to more around to different areas. My Dr. is trying to research what I can do but if it continues, I will probably stop taking it because it interferes with my daily living.

Hi Andrew, welcome to our forum :)

I'm not a medical professional, but I can try to provide some general information and suggestions based on your comment. I always recommend consulting with your healthcare provider regarding any concerns or side effects you experience with your medication.

It's not uncommon for some individuals to experience side effects when starting a new medication or adjusting the dosage. In your case, the sensitivity and burning sensation you're experiencing could be related to your recent increase to 1mg of Ozempic. However, without a proper medical evaluation, it's challenging to determine the exact cause of your symptoms.

So a wise decision, in my opinion, would be to pause the medication for a week and observe whether the symptoms subside. Keep track of any changes during this time and discuss your experience with your doctor. He/she can provide guidance on whether you should continue, adjust the dosage, or try a different medication.

I hope any unpleasant symptoms will go away and you will enjoy your further experience with Ozempic, have a great day!

Yes, I am experiencing very similar symptoms! It started after they moved me up to 2mg. My back feels very sensitive, sometimes my arms and back of neck. It is really hard to explain how it feels.

I am so relieved to find that others are experiencing this sunburn sensation. I’ve been to neurologists who diagnosed me with truncal neuropathy , my PCP, Pain Specialists who performed spinal cortisone injections and my endocrinologist only to have them all scratching their heads saying it’s not the Ozempic. Ozempic is the only thing that I’ve recently added to treat my T2D and at a lower dose I did not experience the sunburn sensation but now at 2mg I am. I really do not want to stop it as I see it reducing my glucose numbers but it’s impacting my quality of life. But maybe I need to back down on the dose. Thank you for your transparency. I feel at ease knowing that I’m not the only one. I’m just sad we are suffering.
