I started ozempic September 11th 2022 at 305.

I had my blood work done pre-ozempic in August my

Creatinine - 69
Alkaline Phosphatase - 74
Glomerular Filtration Rate (eGFR) - 95
Alanine Aminotransferase - 32

I just had it checked again and I noticed a change

Creatinine - 87
Alkaline Phosphatase - 71
Glomerular Filtration Rate (eGFR) - 72
Alanine Aminotransferase - 17

How would this be interpreted? I look at it thinking my liver dropped and so did my kidney’s.

Is a lower number on the kidney’s a bad thing?

I’m down to 252 since September and I don’t have a follow up with the doctor until March.

I hope it isn’t affecting my kidney’s.

How do you get a requisition for blood work without seeing your doctor? When I get my bloodwork done I'm unable to see my results as they are sent to my doctor. Typically if a doctor sees your results and is concerned with anything they would call you to schedule an appointment (and sooner than your follow-up appt.) If your results are sent to your doctor and he/she doesn't reach out for an appointment to review I wouldn't worry about them - your doctor can explain what the results mean.

my doctor gave me a lab requisition and I took it to the lab and got the blood work done and then the lab posts them online for me to see along with sending it to the doctor.

Since it’s the weekend and a holiday on Monday, the doctor won’t see the report until Tuesday but all of the results are back now, so I’ve looked at them.

I'm happy that you're having great results on ozempic - I've now had 7 injections (4 of .25 mg and 3 of .5 mg) and have had zero weight loss so I'm not sure if this is working. I have had no changes to my appetite and a few side effects that I've been able to control with over the counter medication. What dose is typical to lose weight? I'm reading review of users and they all seem to have weight loss once they start Ozempic and that's not the case for me.

Lucky for you that you can view your results - our local lab doesn't post anything - as a patient and given it's my blood being tested I wish I could see MY results first (even if I don't know what they mean)! I suppose not seeing them gives me no reason to worry though and only be concerned if I hear back from my doc.

If you are in BC, there is an app called “BC Services Card” where all lab results, medication purchases and vaccinations are listed and are accessible 24/7. I’m sure other provinces will have something simirlar.

Not sure and not a doctor but if gfr is >60 you should be in relatively normal range of function-ie no need for specialist. Also depends on age. kKidney function decreases with age. At least that’s what I remember from my labs.

If you live in Canada when you go for your blood test your pharmacist can give you the results on the same day (mine does that) unless you don’t have a file but I am guessing you are on Ozempic so you do have a file at the pharmacy. Where I am in Canada it works that way for us.
