Hi All:

This is my first time on ozempic and my doctor is having me start at .50mg. It's been 3 days and already feeling the side affects.

Since day one I've had no appetite. I guess that tells me I injected the medication correctly. My body knows it needs food but my brain says you're not hungry. So I kinda force myself to eat. Day 3 which is today I started to feel nauseous. It was hard for me to eat solid food and to swallow it down. I just couldn't eat much of it really. I had maybe 5 bites before I was like I can't eat anymore. I just drank water. A couple hours after my meal the nausea felt kinda worse. Its like the feeling of a hangover. You run to the bathroom and vomit......I felt so much better after but still have no appetite. Basically my stomach hasn't had much food these last 3 days. I had a couple of premier protein drinks which was easier for me to consume but I know my body isn't eating enough which is kinda draining me.

Have any of you started on .50mg and skipped .25mg? Any of you experience this side effect and has it gone away by the next dosage or in time but hopefully not a long time...

Any info or recommendations would help and different solid meals that's easy to consume that you've eaten

Much appreciated everyone

Hello, Littlestar :)

I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing these side effects while starting on Ozempic. It sounds like you're going through a challenging time, but it's great that you're reaching out for advice and support, 'cause that's what we are here for.

Starting a new medication can sometimes come with these kinds of adjustments as your body gets used to it. It's positive that you're noticing changes in your appetite – it could indeed be an indicator that the medication is working as intended. However, I'm not a medical professional, so I would advise you to continue communicating with your doctor about these side effects.

As for your questions about starting at 0.50mg and skipping 0.25mg, and whether others have experienced similar side effects, I personally never did that, but I am sure there are users here who can share similar experiences with you.

Regarding easy-to-consume meals, it's important to prioritize foods that are gentle on your stomach. Foods like soups, smoothies, oatmeal, yogurt, and boiled eggs might be easier to tolerate during this period. Remember to stay hydrated and consult your healthcare provider if you're concerned about your nutrition intake.

However, since everyone's body reacts differently to medications, it's crucial to keep an open line of communication with your doctor throughout this process. They can provide the most personalized guidance based on your specific situation.

Wishing you all the best in managing these side effects and finding a comfortable routine with your medication. Take care!
